Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how HabitDay ("we", "our", or "the app"; formerly Water Day Tracker) handles information when you use our iOS application. By using HabitDay, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

HabitDay helps you build three daily habits — drinking water, walking and reading — with personal goals, reminders, streaks and badges. All data processing happens locally on your device.

To provide personalized hydration recommendations, the app asks you to provide the following during onboarding:

• Gender – used to calculate your baseline daily water goal
• Age – used to adjust hydration recommendations
• Weight – used to compute your daily water intake target
• Activity level – used to refine your daily water goal
• Climate preference – accounts for environmental conditions
• Wake-up & bedtime hours – used to schedule reminder notifications
• Language preference – used for app localization
• Habit goals – your daily water, step and reading goals and reminder times

The app also stores the data you log so you can track your progress over time:

• Water – drink entries and hydration history
• Walking – daily step counts and walks you add by hand (steps, duration)
• Reading – your books (title, author, pages, cover link), reading sessions, ratings and notes

We use the information you provide solely to:

• Calculate and display your personalized daily hydration goal
• Track and visualize your water, walking and reading history and progress
• Calculate streaks, badges and challenge progress
• Schedule and deliver local push notifications at your preferred times
• Display the app in your selected language
• Provide premium features if you subscribe

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is described above.

All app data is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. We do not operate any servers that receive, store, or process your personal information.

Your data is protected by iOS's built-in security mechanisms including hardware encryption and app sandboxing. Sensitive identifiers (such as purchase receipts) are stored in the iOS Keychain.

Deleting the app from your device will permanently remove all associated data.

If you allow it, HabitDay connects to Apple Health (HealthKit):

• Read: your step count, to fill in your walking progress, and water intake logged by other apps
• Write: the drinks you log, saved as water intake

Health data is used only inside the app to show your progress. It is never sent to our servers or shared with third parties, and it is never used for advertising. You can turn access off at any time in the app or in Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.

HabitDay uses local notifications to remind you to drink water, move and read. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device — they do not pass through any external server.

You can enable or disable notifications at any time in the app settings or in your device's Settings > Notifications > HabitDay.

HabitDay is currently free and offers no purchases. If optional premium subscriptions (monthly and yearly) are offered in the future, they will be sold through Apple's App Store and StoreKit framework. All purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple.

We do not collect or store your payment information. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how purchase data is managed:

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.

HabitDay does not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or social media plugins that collect personal data.

The app connects to the following services only when needed:

• Open Library (openlibrary.org) – when you search for a book, the search text is sent to Open Library and book covers are loaded from covers.openlibrary.org. No account or personal data is sent. See the Internet Archive's terms and privacy policy.
• Update check – the app downloads a small file from waterdaytracker.com to find out whether a new version is available. No personal data is sent.
• Apple – Apple Health and the App Store, governed by Apple's privacy policy.

HabitDay is suitable for general audiences, including children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction) beyond what is entered locally during onboarding.

Since all data remains on the device and is never transmitted, no parental consent is required for data transmission purposes. Parents can delete the app and all its data at any time by uninstalling it from the device.

Because all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control at all times:

• Access & Review – Your data is visible within the app at any time
• Modify – Update your profile information in the app settings
• Delete – Remove all data by deleting the app from your device
• Portability – Your data is accessible through iOS device backups (iCloud or local)

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
